In order to provide outstanding Preventative, Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry services, we use the latest technology in equipment and tools. Here are a few examples:
DIGITAL X-RAYSSafer than traditional x-rays. The computer sensor is very sensitive, which means the system can use a much lower amount of radiation. In fact, it uses 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays.
More effective than traditional x-rays. The sensor sees things conventional films might miss and the image can be magnified 300x its normal size and contrast can be adjusted to reveal things normal film might not see.
Faster than traditional x-rays. Since there is no development cycle, images are available within seconds of being taken!
More environmentally friendly. Since the system avoids using hazardous chemicals it does not produce hazardous waste either.
DIGITAL PANORAMIC X-RAYSX-rays that are taken with a Panorex X-Ray Digital Machine differ from other digital x-rays in that it takes a “panoramic” picture of your teeth. The machine makes an entire half-circle motion that captures an image of your entire mouth. Like digital x-rays, digital Panorex x-rays reduce the amount of radiation you are exposed to (in comparison to standard x-rays) by up to 90 percent. Dr. Datta will determine whether or not a Panorex is necessary for your treatment. In general, a panoramic x-ray of your teeth are usually recommended at least once every 5 years. These x-rays can reveal potential problems that other x-rays cannot.
INTRAORAL CAMERAWant to see what the dentist sees when he looks inside your mouth? With the Intraoral camera you can! This is a tiny digital camera that fits comfortably in your mouth and allows Dr. Datta to show you an enlarged image on a computer screen. The tip of the wand (where the camera is located) is covered with a disposable plastic sheath that keeps the procedure sterile and comfortable. This not only allows you to see what is happening in your mouth, it also documents the findings by uploading the information to a computer.
ISOLITE ILLUMINATORThe Isolite Dryfield Illuminator helps
Dr. Datta provide better patient care because with the Isolite, procedures are quicker; therefore, patients spend less time in the chair. You no longer have to strain to keep your mouth open, it is comfortably held open with a soft bite block, greatly reducing jaw fatigue. Also, instead of having to ask for suction during the procedure, the patients’ oral cavity is continuously freed of excess fluids. Come in and experience the difference the Isolite makes!
